See SpaceX rocket crash landing

SpaceX’s most recent attempt at pioneering a reusable rocket did not go as planned when the soft landing ended with a bang. The rocket ran out of hydraulic fluid minutes before landing, causing it to lose control and come in just short of the floating landing platform. While this first attempt was not successful, the company says they have at least a dozen more missions planned for 2015.

Senior Iranian official has warning for US

The Iranian Ambassador to the UK Hamid Baeidinejad warned that the United States and Iran are headed toward “a confrontation which is very serious for everybody in the region.”
In an exclusive interview with Christiane Amanpour, the Ambassador reacted to escalated tensions between the two countries, as the United States continues to blame Iran for an attack on two oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman.
Ambassador Baeidinejad, a senior Iranian official within the Foreign Ministry, denied the allegations, and cautioned the White House would be “very sorry” to underestimate Iran, should a military conflict ensue.
When asked who else could be responsible for the attack, Baeidinejad pointed to other countries in the region “who have invested heavily, billions and billions of dollars to draft the United States into a military conflict with Iran.”

Vice presidential fact check: Daniel Dale selects his lie of the night

Vice President Mike Pence echoed some of President Donald Trump’s most common falsehoods and misleading statements during the lone vice presidential debate with Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) — though in a more restrained, neatly packaged way.
The Salt Lake City debate was a less chaotic affair when compared to September’s first meeting between Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden. But there were traces of that event in Pence’s delivery of some of the same lines that the President often repeats.
Harris, too, made some claims that were misleading or lacked context, but those paled in comparison to the litany of statements from Pence that were either untrue or needed additional context.
Coronavirus and the Trump administration’s response dominated the start of the debate and was referenced throughout, and the threat of the virus — due to the plexiglass barriers separating each desk — was apparent before either candidate spoke a word. The rivals also argued over economic recovery, the future of health care in America and the importance of tackling the climate crisis.
